So much more than just an athlete, Sinorice Moss is exploring the many talents he has been blessed with: football, singing, acting and producing.  He is also the creator of  Dare to Dream a foundation that places emphasis on teachers and inspires kids to remain active in pursuing their education.  This is definitely a man that is living his dream and remains humble amidst it all.

CPM: INTRODUCE YOURSELF…WHO IS SINORICE MOSS?

SM: Sinorice Moss is a man of many hats, a professional athlete, singer, actor, executive producer of films and music.  I’m also a business man; I have a business down in Miami with my brother and just a great man of faith.

CPM: HAVING PLAYED WITH THE NEW YORK GIANTS AND NOW DEALING WITH YOUR INJURY WHAT’S YOUR FOCUS RIGHT NOW?

SM: My main focus is to be completely healthy 100% so I can have the opportunity to play with another team (Moss recently signed with the Philadelphia Eagles).  Being a veteran I understand what I have to do to get myself healthy.

CPM: YOU HAVE SUCH AN AMAZING SPIRIT. HOW DO YOU STAY SO POSITIVE IN SPITE OF THE SETBACKS?

SM: I know what GOD has for me.  It makes me smile because I know he gives me the strength and courage.  I just appreciate what I have and the things I’m capable of doing as far as the talent he has blessed me with, so I have nothing to feel bad or sad about.  I know when one door closes another one opens.

CPM: YOU AND YOUR BROTHER (SANTANA MOSS) HAVE SIMILAR PATHS…HOW DO YOU REMAIN SO HUMBLE AND FOCUSED AND WHAT ROLE DID YOUR PARENTS PLAY IN DEVELOPING SUCH WELL-ROUNDED YOUNG MEN?

SM: A large thanks [goes] to my parents.  For my mother to have two of her oldest boys in the NFL, you would never know it.  If you were to hang around my mother you would never know she had kids in the NFL because she isn’t flashy.  She doesn’t boast or brag.  She’s very fortunate and I think the things she did when we were growing up kept us humble.  It kept us focused and made us appreciate and stay on top of the things.

CPM: TELL US ABOUT THE DARE TO DREAM FOUNDATION AND WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO CREATE IT?

SM: That’s my baby there.  I call that my baby.  The Dare to Dream Foundation was an idea I had my last year in college.  My brother Santana was already in the NFL and I watched him with the Santana Moss Foundation.  I saw the impact he had in our neighborhood and our community.  Me being his brother, I had to help out and started jotting down names for my foundation.  I was thinking how can I help and have an input in my community?  My first year in the NFL, I teamed up with my brother and the whole time I was doing research, attending other charity events and asking questions because I wanted something of my own.  With everything going on with education in the local communities I was like I need to tackle education and let these kids know that if you put your mind to it you can become anything you want.  If you apply yourself in school you can become anything, not just a football or basketball player.  By the kids in the community looking at players like myself as role models, I feel it’s important to give back by personally speaking to these kids.  Letting these kids know I’m just like them, I had times I didn’t want to go to school and it’s okay.  Also it starts with the teachers and I wanted the teachers to know it starts with them, because without teachers we don’t have students.

CPM: YOUR CHARITABLE WORK HAS BEEN PRAISED BY THE WALL STREET JOURNAL, ESSENCE, MOVADO ETC…WHICH IS MORE GRATIFYING ON THE FIELD OR OFF THE FIELD ACCOLADES & WHY?

SM: I would say off the field.  What I do on the field is definitely a blessing, it’s me, the individual, out there making plays and working with a team.  But doing off the field events, being able to inspire a child to want to do better means so much more because I’m in the seat where they want to be.  So if I can go to a local elementary, middle or high school and be some type of inspiration to these kids, that means so much more.

CPM: YOU’RE AN ATHLETE BUT YOU ALSO ARE A BUSINESS OWNER, SINGER, ACTOR-WHAT PROJECTS ARE YOU CURRENTLY WORKING ON?

SM: I actually just finished a short film.  I shot a project in February 2010 called This Time.  It’s written by Reagan Gomez and the director was Matthew A. Cherry.  I was one of the actors and one of the executive producers.  We’ve been receiving rave reviews about the short film and have been accepted into 10 film festivals.  We just released it about a month ago on YouTube and it has been getting so many comments.  We’re actually in the process of shooting the movie.  It’s definitely a blessing.

CPM: WHAT DOES THE FUTURE HOLD FOR SINORICE MOSS?

SM: I feel like the future holds a lot…continuing my NFL career, getting more in-depth in acting and even behind the scenes producing.  The sky’s the limit.

CPM: WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU WANT TO RELAX AND FIND SERENITY AMIDST THE CHAOS?

SM: I’m a homebody (laughs).  I’ve been in New Jersey for the past five years and I’m a homebody, it’s so funny.  I have a lot of friends that ask me to go out, but I’m not a guy that goes to the club.  I’ll attend different club events for my friends or maybe if I have something I have to attend.  I go to a lot of Broadway shows; I read poetry, relax and enjoy my time.  When I do have time to relax I enjoy my time at home.

CPM: WHAT ARE YOUR FAVORITE WORDS OF MOTIVATION?

SM: It’s a quote I tell the kids when I speak … “If you dream you’ll become your dream” and I truly believe that.
